She is the author of “The Ella Verse”   a science fiction novel about a gay teenaged girl from Iowa who wants more than anything to be comfortable with herself and happy with her girlfriend, but can’t because she has been “chosen” by a cult of time-travelers from after the apocalypse to lead humanity off its path of self-destruction, and they can’t have a gay messiah.
